

How Delivery from Garlic Wood Works
UK-wide national delivery
We deliver our produce to all of the mainland UK* using DPD’s ‘next day’ courier delivery service. Your order will selected and carefully packed for delivery to your home on the day you choose. Orders are despatched frozen and packed in recyclable cardboard boxes with environmentally friendly natural wool insulation and food-safe ice packs. Standard delivery is available Wednesday to Friday. We also offer a premium Saturday delivery service
Minimum order value
Due to the fixed cost of chilled and frozen home delivery this service is subject a minimum order value of £45. After a lot of consideration we have set is at this level in order to ensure we reduce our use of transport and courier services and to encourage less frequent, bulk ordering.
Delivery costs
In reality the cost of offering ‘free’ delivery is inevitably added to the product price. Because of this we’ve taken the decision to make a small charge on all deliveries in order to allow us to keep our food costs as low as possible. By placing a small charge on all orders we are also able to offset – and reduce – our charge for lower value orders often purchased by smaller households. Our delivery charges are:
Orders over £80 are charged at £2.95 for standard delivery (Wed-Fri)
Orders under £80 are charged at £5.95 for standard delivery (Wed-Fri)
Orders for premium Saturday delivery are charged £5.00 in addition to the base standard delivery fee
Butchery and dispatch timings
When you place an order for home delivery you will have the option to choose your delivery date from the days shown on the drop-down menu. We offer delivery Wednesday- Saturday every week. Delivery is available on a ‘order date plus 1’ basis (for example an order placed on a Monday will be available for delivery on Wednesday at the earliest).
When we receive your order we will prepare it for dispatch via our delivery partner, DPD, to arrive on your selected day. In exceptional circumstances the delivery may be pushed from an overnight to a 48hr delivery. All orders are packed with sufficient ice and insulation to ensure that they will remain frozen should this additional delivery day be required. Whilst all orders are sent on a next day service to arrive on the selected date orders delivered on a 48hr schedule, and therefore arriving later than the selected date, will be considered to have been successfully delivered.
To receive an order in time for a specific event, party or meal we would recommend allowing an additional day for delivery (e.g. request your order as a Thursday delivery for an event planned on Friday).
Delivery details
We have partnered with DPD to offer an overnight courier service for all home deliveries. Your order will leave our butchery and a notification will be sent to the mobile number/email supplied on your order to inform you it is on its way. On the day of delivery you will receive a message giving a 1hr delivery time slot.
Because your Garlic Wood goods are perishable DPD are under instruction not to take a package back to the depot. Should nobody be at home they will leave the parcel in a safe place. Specific instructions for the courier to follow in this event can be left in the notes box when placing your order (e.g. ‘leave in porch’).

*Delivery is available to mainland UK addresses. However, addresses in the Highlands and Islands, Isle of Mann, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, and certain other outlying postcodes are not covered by this service. In the event that a postcode is not covered by our next day service, or where a postcode is subject to additional charges, we will contact the customer to agree revised delivery terms/costs, or to offer a refund of the total order value should delivery not be possible.
