Delivery or ‘click and collect’
Our normal collection and delivery service will continue to operate. We do, however, anticipate an increased demand for home delivery versus collection. Whilst we’re working to streamline the day-to-day operation of the business in order to facilitate more home deliveries we’d ask that our customers bear with us during periods of peak demand. We’ll communicate with all customers regarding timings of deliveries.
Sadly some of our ‘click and collect’ partners have had to close (those that are pubs, cafes etc). Whilst this temporarily reduces our range of pick-up points we’re confident we can work around this by increasing our delivery system and by making more use of the existing network of collection points.
At the moment we are unable to communicate directly with every customer regarding delivery days and times. However, we are guaranteeing our customers that every order placed will be delivered in the same week as it has been ordered. Our online shop is currently opening from 5pm Saturday to 9am Wednesday – so any orders placed during that time are guaranteed to be delivered by the end of that week.
How to order from our online shop
To order from our site simply click on the box or item you’re interested in, select the number of items you’d like to buy and then add to your basket. Once you added everything you’d like to your basket you can complete your order by visiting our checkout where you will be taken through our secure payment system. Your order will then be collated by our team of butchers ready for despatch to the address you have supplied us.
Box contents and item weights
In all cases we will endeavour to match the exact content descriptions given. However, please be aware that we your order is being butchered and put together by-hand by our team of butchers. Therefore weights are approximate and may vary slightly from those listed.
If we are unable to fulfil an individual part of an order we reserve the right to substitute that item for one of equivalent value and quality. We will never substitute one species for another in any order (e.g. substitute beef for pork). If your order is for a single item and this is not available we will notify you by email and you will have the right to accept a substitute or have your order refunded in full.
All orders received before 1pm on Tuesday will be despatched by Thursday of the same week. Orders received after 1pm on Tuesday will be despatched by Tuesday of the following week.
All goods will be vacuum packed, labelled and despatched in polystyrene chiller boxes packed with ice. Deliveries will be made using an overnight signed-for courier service.
On receipt of an order we will confirm by email when delivery will be made. Unfortunately we can’t give you an exact time for delivery, but we can ask the driver to leave it somewhere safe if you know you will be out. Please provide instructions for the driver, such as a neighbour’s address, or a safe place to leave your box (e.g. ‘at side of garage’, or ‘in shed’).
If stipulating alternative delivery arrangements customers should be aware that this instruction will be regarded as equivalent to a signature acknowledging receipt of goods and no subsequent liability will therefore be taken by the courier company or by Garlic Wood Farm for any goods not received.
Please note that delivery dates may be affected by public and bank holidays.
Delivery is free on all orders over £50. Free delivery is limited to UK addresses only and excludes Northern Ireland, Isle of Mann, Isle of Wight, Scottish Highlands and Islands, Channel Islands. Please contact us for delivery surcharges for these excluded areas prior to placing an order.
When you purchase a butchery course for a specific date we’ll email you to confirm receipt of your order and confirm your place on that course. We will then send out a voucher to you in the post to the name and address supplied on booking (full details of the day’s itinerary will then follow 1-2weeks prior to the course date)
If you purchase an undated gift voucher we’ll email you to confirm receipt of your order and send you a voucher in the post to the name and address supplied on booking. This voucher is valid for 12months from the date of purchase. We will update the website with course dates, but please be aware that is the responsibility of the voucher recipient to contact us and book onto a course within the period for which the voucher is valid.
We will endeavour always to ensure that a planned course does go ahead, However, if a course is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control we will notify you in advance and give you the option of selecting an alternative date or accepting a full refund of the course cost. Likewise, we understand that you may need to cancel your course attendance due to unforeseen circumstances. In this case we will allow cancellation without charge up to 14days prior to the course date. You will be given the option of booking onto an alternative course at no extra charge provided it falls within the original period during which the voucher was valid.
