Chicken & Duck
There’s nothing like the smell and flavour of ‘proper’ roast chicken. Crispy well-seasoned skin and the tasty tender meat underneath make it every bit as good as any roasting joint of beef, lamb or pork – and deserving of a place as the centrepiece of a family meal.
All too often though chicken is now a little-considered commodity; intensively farmed to provide cheap protein at the expense of both animal welfare and flavour. We believe chicken produced like this is ethically unacceptable as well as flavourless. Our chicken and duck are free-range and slower growing. The animals have ready access to outside space and well-maintained indoor shelter and they are fed a natural cereal-based diet. The difference is immediately noticeable in the flavour. This is chicken as it should be.
