Truly free-range chicken wings
Chicken wings are a good value, hugely versatile, and often overlooked cut. Lightly seasoned and roasted they make a great quick-cook midweek snack. Kids especially love being able to get hands-on and pick them up to eat!
Add some spices or a marinade for a fantastic and simple barbecue snack. They’re also great for making a thick and rich chicken stock or to add body to a gravy.
All our chicken are reared by us on the farm within a few hundred metres of the butchery. We use slow growing breeds and provide them access to open space to scratch, forage and engage in natural behaviour. These birds live in small flocks with access to warm, dry, and naturally ventilated mobile housing and are given no antibiotics or growth hormones during their lifetime. We rear them to a minimum of 90 days, higher even than organic standards. Every stage of their life through to slaughter and processing is overseen by us on the farm ensuring they are farmed to the highest possible welfare standards.
Our chicken wings are prepared with the wing tips removed. They are fresh-frozen in small batches and once unpacked can be returned to the freezer or placed in the fridge and allowed to defrost thoroughly before cooking. Once defrosted they can be treated as fresh and cooked within 5 days. Any meal made using the defrosted chicken wings is perfectly safe to freeze.
