Boston butt pork shoulder

Boneless and rindless free-range pork shoulder for slow-cooking, barbecuing or hot-smoking

Boston butt is the classic American barbecue cut. The marbling and fat of the shoulder make this cut ideal for long and slow cooking, or for hot-smoking. We have removed the bone and skin from our Boston butt joints to allow the cooked meat to be easily pulled for serving.

Preparation and patience are key to getting the perfect pulled pork. Marinade the meat overnight in a sticky barbecue and paprika rub before placing in a dish with some dry cider, cover and cook at a low temperature for 4-6 hours. Once cooked pull the meat, drizzle the sticky cooking juices across the pork, and serve in buns with a classic American coleslaw and pickles.

Cut as a 2kg joint to serve 6-8 people

This product is expertly prepared from locally farmed free-range pork and then 'fresh-frozen' to ensure it arrives in the best possible condition. Once unpacked it can be placed straight back into the freezer or allowed to defrost thoroughly in the fridge before cooking. Once defrosted it should be cooked within 5 days. Any dish cooked with this joint is safe to freeze.
