Bacon lardons, 100% natural and nitrate free
Hand-diced chunks of dry-cured free-range unsmoked bacon, made without the use of nitrates.
Fry these lardons off and use them in pasta dishes, pizzas, salads, stews and casseroles. The layers of creamy fat render down when fried and impart a rich bacon flavour to any dish. They also make a fantastic addition to cooked vegetable greens and no bowl of festive sprouts should be without a generous handful of crispy bacon lardons!
We cure all our own 100% natural bacon using high-welfare locally-farmed free-range pork and a simple sea salt curing mix. Due to the lack of nitrates you may notice the product lacks the bright pink colour of conventionally cured bacon. This natural appearance has no impact on the flavour or the quality of the product, and we think its a small price worth paying for the absence of the nitrate preservatives.
Sold in individual 200g portions.
This product is supplied frozen. When unpacked it can be placed straight into the freezer or allowed to defrost thoroughly in the fridge before use. Once defrosted it should be consumed within 10 days. Any dish made using our bacon lardons is perfectly safe to refreeze.
